Señor Tequilas Mexican Cantina: Reviews & Ratings
Absolutely stellar experience! I ordered the steak street tacos, while my dad ordered the trio Señor Pollo. We were both blown away by the explosion of flavors. In my dad's words, 'This is our new favorite spot,' and I couldn't agree more. Count us in as regulars from now on!
May 12, 2024, my aunt treated my sister and I here for Mother’s Day. In all honesty, I was not impressed with the way it looks on the inside. However, the service was dynamic, and the food, was amazing. Our server was ?Keke?, If I can remember correctly, anyway, let me say, she received a good tip. My aunt and sister ordered some type of burritos. These were prepared in the way you would expect a Mexican burrito to be made—very huge. My sister and I also ordered the Mexican street corn, which was still on the cob. I of course, being bougie, cut my corn away from the cob; however, the flavor and the way the corn was seasoned and prepared was so tasty, the ricotta cheese was so creamy and this was a delicious different way that I’ve had Mexican Street corn. But it was very good and tasty. I also had the shrimp taco Birria’s with chicken added, this comes with beef broth dipping sauce. Waynesboro, Waynesboro, Waynesboro—If y’all have not tried this restaurant, you need to give this restaurant a try if you want real authentic Mexican prepared food. I live in Augusta and have eaten at many Mexican restaurants and I’ve eaten at another Mexican restaurant in Waynesboro, that doesn’t always mean they are preparing authentic Mexican food, well Señor Tequila has it on point. The kitchen manager came out, also speaking with us and thanking us for trying out the restaurant. I mentioned to her if they do all of what they done in preparing our food, they would be greatly successful in Waynesboro. But y’all, y’all do not need to sleep on those shrimp and chicken taco Birria’s, dip in that good beef broth sauce, and squeeze those limes for a burst of flavor. There’s no other way to explain it. Y’all need to check them out. Thanks KeKe!!
Back to the good food that location was known for. It's nice to see the place back up and running. Everything was delicious. Word to the wise, get the Large Cheese Dip. It's good food and my only gripe is the prices are up there. Unfortunately, what place isn't these days. I hope they find their identity. They need to, rather than being just the replacement of their predecessor.
The food is really fresh and flavorful, and they have different menu items than just the standard Mexican fare. I had the veggie trio, tacos with cactus, avocado slices, cojito cheese, bell peppers, and mushrooms. It was well seasoned and I enjoyed the different flavors. My husband had the spinach and mushroom fajitas and he said they were delicious. We also ordered the guacamole which came with everything chopped into small pieces and tossed together, but not blended. It was delicious and obviously fresh and made in the restaurant rather than bought.
I travel a lot, and when I decide to get a Mexican dinner, I almost always order a steak burrito with rice and beans. This one was a grand-slam home run! The steak was seasoned perfectly, the best I've ever had. The fajita vegetables were cooked and seasoned just right, and the side of beans and rice complimented the dinner well. The service was awesome, and prices were very reasonable. They give you a large basket of fresh made tortillas and salsa that has a little zing to it, but not overly hot. If you like steak burritos, order the El Perron Burrito with steak. I only wish I lived closer because I would be a frequent customer.
Today was my first experience at Senor’s & it won’t be the last! My girl & I stopped in cause we love birria tacos ( especially from Azul since we stay in Statesboro). Service was great and since we were the only ones at the time the food was quick & hot, the chips salsa & queso(ordered) were great together & very warm. I can with confidence say that Azul def has some competition on their hands with Señor’s, I got the tacos & my lady the burrito. The consommé was amazing & fresh & honestly a clear win if comparing the two in my honest opinion. Def get out there & try this food & Azul’s to compare you def won’t be disappointed with either!
We were excited to try out the newest Mexican spot for Waynesboro however we were met with bland food. I have to say our servers were kind and tried hard. The cheese dip and cheese dip with chorizo were good. No flavor spice or anything to make the salsa taste good. It was missing something. Shrimp burrito was fine but attention to detail from the kitchen could be a little better. We asked for queso on the side but it came ontop so we got another one for my mom. My plate was the carne asada...had a slightly odd flavor to the meat...almost old but I ate it all with their spicy sauce which was really good. I didn't find anything special about their rice and beans and my husband had the ceviche had no lime or flavor. Extremely bland. We had ordered the stuffed jalapeño but either she never wrote it although she acknowledged or they forgot. Sadly we were not impressed with the restaurant but the people were very kind. I'd say I hope they can get the flavors together and it would be way better of an experience.
The food was totally on point. I am from Texas, and the corn tortillas were definitely fresh homemade. I recommend trying it all. The service could be better, but I am sure they are just trying to keep the place going with lower overhead, and I get that. She did great for all of the people in the place. Keep the great food coming...
